WIMS (Welding Information Management System) is designed to collect welding parameters for Weld Procedures, Welder Monitoring, Production Tests, & Welder Quals.
It can be used stand-alone, or as a backup for Arc Monitoring Systems.
The welding calculations will use the best parameter data available. If the user inputs a total energy figure (kJ or J) from an arc monitoring system and a weld length, this takes priority.
Failing that, if the user inputs Volts, Amps, and an Input Speed (eg. for mechanised welding such as Sub-Arc), this will be used.
Without an Input Speed, the next preference will be to use Volts, Amps, Arc Time, and Weld Length.
For welder monitoring, WIMS can also use volumetric methods:
SMAW - ROL and Stub Length
FCAW/GMAW - WireFeed Speed and Travel Speed.
(These require some setup in the Consumables table, but default examples are provided)
Additional screens are provided to delete parameters using filters, with preview before confirmation, and a similar process is used to select parameters rows for sharing via iOSs built-in "Share" feature.
Carbon equivalents, preheat calculations, and cooling time calculations for carbon-manganese steels are also included.
